607 BCE is the date that the Watch Tower publications pick for the destruction of Jerusalem and its temple by Nebuchadnezzar. The way in which the 1914 doctrine is defined requires the date 607 BCE although a combination of Biblical and secular evidence points to 587/586 BCE as the date for that event. The Watch Tower is well aware of the discrepancy, but attempts to overcome the evidence by implying that their date 607 is based on Biblical evidence while the 587 date is based on secular evidence. The evidence shows how that attempt to overcome the evidence is dishonest.
